Fancy orange and, especially, fancy green natural diamonds remain categories where lab-grown production hasn't yet produced a convincing, widely available equivalent.

• Natural green colour usually comes from radiation exposure over geological time affecting only the stone's surface, a process that's difficult to replicate convincingly at scale in the lab.
• Fancy orange stones are rare in nature and, while lab-grown orange exists, it hasn't reached the same market presence as lab-grown pink, blue or yellow.
• For buyers specifically wanting these colours, natural remains close to the only realistic route, which keeps pricing firm relative to categories where lab-grown competition exists.
